Spring soccer registrationAll participants in the MYA Soccer Program Spring season are assigned their league based on their age as of July 31 of the previous year. In the spring rec season the divisions are:
The open registration period for spring rec soccer is February 1st through March 16th. All players are welcome, regardless of prior experience. No tryouts are necessary, and all registrants are placed on teams. The late registration period for spring rec soccer runs from March 17th to April 11 th. Anyone who registers during the late registration period must pay a $15 late fee in addition to the $40 registration fee. All players who register during the late registration period will be placed on a You have the option to purchase a soccer ball during online registration. If you check the box, your coach will provide you with a ball of the correct size for the league your child is registering for. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Each player receives a Coed Under 6: To participate in the U6 league, players must be 4 years old by July 31, of the previous year. The teams will meet each Saturday afternoon, at the Middle School fields, for one hour. The hour will consist of a 30 minute practice followed by a 30 minute game. At least one parent is required to be in attendance at all times. Each player needs shin guards and shorts. They will be using a size 3 soccer ball. Coed Under 8: U8 players have practices before games on Saturdays like U6. U8s have a 30 minute practice followed by a 60 minute game and use a size 3 soccer ball. All other age divisions: spring soccer teams generally don't have practices during the week and play most games on Saturdays. Each player needs shin guards and shorts. U10 uses a size 4 soccer ball, U13 and older use a size 5 soccer ball. A note on placements: While coordinators try to take special requests into consideration when assigning players to teams, our most important goal is to try to balance the teams so all kids have an equal opportunity to succeed and have fun. In the older age groups, a draft is held to allow coaches to build their teams from the list of registrants. It is not possible to accomodate every request. Please accept your child's placement.
