Fall Soccer Registration

All participants in the MYA Soccer Program Fall 2010 season are assigned their league based on their age as of July 31, 2010.

In the fall rec season the divisions are:

Coed U6, U8, U10, U12, U16, U19

We no longer off girls-only leagues due to lack of interest.

Beginning in fall 2008, the MYA CU19 Rec Soccer division began play in the Greater Manchester Area Inter City League. This will continue for fall 2010. Approximately half of the games will be away games, which will be played in the greater Manchester area. Home games will be played in Merrimack. We believe this will offer a more fun and exciting soccer experience than the 2 team MYA-only CU19 divisions of recent seasons. No extra fees are involved, and no tryouts are required. We want to emphasize that this is a rec program and not a travel program.

MYA supports Travel Teams. These require tryout and selection.

The open registration period for spring rec soccer is June 9^th to July 23^rd 2010 All players are welcome, regardless of prior experience. No tryouts are necessary, and all registrants are placed on teams.

The late registration period for fall rec soccer runs from July 24^th to August 13^th 2010. Anyone who registers during the late registration period must pay a $20 late fee in addition to the $45 registration fee. All players who register during the late registration period will be placed on a team.

Each player receives a team jersey and socks.

Coed Under 6: To participate in the U6 league, players must be 4 years old by July 31, 2010. The teams will meet each Saturday afternoon, at the Reeds Ferry fields, for one hour. The hour will consist of a 30 minute practice followed by a 30 minute game. At least one parent is required to be in attendance at all times. Each player needs shin guards and shorts. They will be using a size 3 soccer ball.

Coed Under 8: U8 players have practices before games on Saturdays like U6. U8s have a 30 minute practice followed by a 60 minute game and use a size 3 soccer ball.

All other age divisions: spring soccer teams generally have one or two practices per week and play most games on Saturdays. Each player needs shin guards and shorts. U11 uses a size 4 soccer ball, U12 and older use a size 5 soccer ball.

A note on placements: While coordinators try to take special requests into consideration when assigning players to teams, our most important goal is to try to balance the teams so all kids have an equal opportunity to succeed and have fun. In the older age groups, a draft is held to allow coaches to build their teams from the list of registrants. It is not possible to accomodate every request. Please accept your child's placement.

The MYASP uses GotSoccer for our online registration. Your charge statement will have the name GotSoccer and not MYASP for the charge.

Please use the following to help understand the steps you will need to register:

If your child...	Take these steps
A. Is only going to play rec soccer	Go to Start Your Registration and register. You are done.
B. Tries out for the travel program and is selected	Go to Start Your Registration and register. Travel players no longer need to register twice! You are done.
C. Tries out for the travel program, is selected and wants to also play rec	Follow the steps for B. There's a checkbox on the travel registration form to indicate that you'd like your child to play rec as well.

Go to Start Your Registration and register. This is the general registration for MYASP.

After tryouts and team selections a second registration will be required. This registration will cover the additional costs associated with the travel program. This second registration will not be available until after tryouts!
