Spring soccer registrationAll participants in the MYA Soccer Program Spring 2010 season are assigned their league based on their age as of July 31, 2009. In the spring rec season the divisions are:
The open registration period for spring rec soccer is January 18th to March 19th 2009 All players are welcome, regardless of prior experience. No tryouts are necessary, and all registrants are placed on teams. The late registration period for spring rec soccer runs from March 20th to April 3rd 2010. Anyone who registers during the late registration period must pay a $15 late fee in addition to the $35 registration fee. All players who register during the late registration period will be placed on a team. Online registration will remain open from April 4th through April 14th, but we don't guarantee placement on a team for registrations received during this period. If your child can't be placed on a team we will refund any registration fees. The reason for this poilicy is that it takes time to form teams and identify coaches so registration can't run right up to the start of the season. You have the option to purchase a soccer ball during online registration. If you check the box, your coach will provide you with a ball of the correct size for the league your child is registering for. The balls are competitively priced and all proceeds benefit the soccer program. If you have any questions please contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The teams will meet each Saturday afternoon, at the Reeds Ferry fields, for one hour. The hour will consist of a 30 minute practice followed by a 30 minute game. At least one parent is required to be in attendance at all times. Each player needs shin guards and shorts. They will be using a size 3 soccer ball. Coed Under 8: U8 players have practices before games on Saturdays like U6. U8s have a 30 minute practice followed by a 60 minute game and use a size 4 soccer ball. All other age divisions: spring soccer teams generally don't have practices during the week and play most games on Saturdays. Each player needs shin guards and shorts. U10-U11 use a size 4 soccer ball, U12 and older use a size 5 soccer ball. A note on placements: While coordinators try to take special requests into consideration when assigning players to teams, our most important goal is to try to balance the teams so all kids have an equal opportunity to succeed and have fun. In the older age groups, a draft is held to allow coaches to build their teams from the list of registrants. It is not possible to accomodate every request. Please accept your child's placement.
