Fall soccer registration is now open!

Hello everyone, it's time for 2010 fall soccer registration!

This fall, we're moving to a new online registration system: GotSoccer.com. This system should make the registration process easier for parents, coaches, refs and administrators but, since the system is new to us, I'm sure there will be some difficulties in the short term. Please bear with us during this transition.

All player data from the past year has been imported so you should already have an account in the new system. GotSoccer has the concept of a family account, so you should be able to log in once and manage each of your kids from a single account.

In addition to Visa and Mastercard, we now accept Discover and eChecks. We're moving away from paper checks because it's a lot more work for us. Anyone with a checkbook can still pay securely online by eCheck if they so choose.

We still offer the family max discount (any players from the same family after the first two register free). You need to have all your kids associated with your family account to get this discount.

If you enjoy reading manuals, GotSoccer provides a parent manual that may be able to answer some of your account management questions:: http://support.gotsport.com/Content/directors/upimg/dir8934/parent%20and%20player%20handbook.pdf

One caveat: I was only able to import the first email address from the old system so if it says it can't find your email address try the secondary one. If you're really stuck, contact me and I'll go in and fix it. If you don't receive an email shortly after requesting one, please remember to check you spam folder.

Registration is broken down into two categories, recreational and travel:
  • Recreational soccer is normal MYA soccer, most players participate in the rec program.
  • Travel soccer is more competitive, players need to try out and be selected for a travel team.
Please follow the appropriate set of instructions below to register your player(s):

Instructions for recreational registration: (this applies to most players, if you aren't sure which league to register for, this is most likely the one you want):
  1. Go to http://myasoccer.org/register
  2. Click the lost password link and enter your email address and the system will email you your family account info so you can log in.
  3. Once you're in, you should see all your kids with a "register now" button to the right. Click this button for the player you'd like to register.
  4. Verify that all the information is correct. At a minimum you'll need to add a secondary email address if you have one.
  5. You still have the option to purchase a soccer ball, please consider this if you need a ball since the proceeds benefit the Merrimack soccer program.
  6. You can now add in text messaging info to be alerted of game cancellations via your cell phone. This is optional but is a convenient method for us to reach you at the last minute is we need to.
Instructions for travel (Merrimack Soccer Club) registration:

Note: travel players no longer need to register for MYA soccer as well as travel soccer, the MYA fee is now included in the travel registration fee. We've also spread the travel fee out across the fall and spring seasons. In the past, fees were structured as follows:
  • Fall: MYA fee + annual travel fee
  • Spring: MYA fee only
With the new system, the fees are as follows:
  • Fall: MYA fee + 1/2 annual travel fee
  • Spring: MYA fee + 1/2 annual travel fee
The result is that you'll pay the same amount for the year you would have with the old system, just not as much up front. It will also make things easier for players who choose not to play both seasons in a year.
  1. Go to http://merrimacksoccerclub.org/register
  5. If you'd like your player to play rec soccer as well, there's an option on the form to indicate this.
  6. You can now add in text messaging info to be alerted of game cancellations via your cell phone. This is optional but is a convenient method for us to reach you at the last minute is we need to.
Please contact me if you experience difficulties, I'm not sure how many emails I'll receive so be patient if I don't get back to you immediately. Don't worry if things don't go smoothly for you, we'll make sure everyone gets registered before the fall season starts.
